This is an illustrated step-by-step tutorial on installing Pligg Beta 9.6 on a shared hosting account.

1. Download.
2. Extract the contents of the zip archive.

   

3. Rename settings.php.default to settings.php. Similarly rename /libs/dbconnect.php.default to /libs/dbconnect.php.

   

   

4. Create a new directory on the server where you want to install Pligg. If you want to install at the root directory, skip this step.

This is a illustrated step-by-step tutorial on installing WordPress 2.2 on an DreamHost shared hosting account. Before you start, ensure that the directory where you are about to install is empty.

1. Log into your DreamHost panel by visiting https://panel.dreamhost.com/.

   

2. Click on Goodies in the left side.

   

3. Click on One-Click Installs.

   

4. Scroll down. You will see that WordPress 2.2 is selected by default. Select the domain where you want to install to by choosing it from the dropdown.

   

5. DreamHost lets you create unlimited number of Databases. So we’ll create one by typing its name (It’s a good idea to prefix the database with your host name), select an existing hostname or create one (it’s a good idea to have the same hostname as the domain), select the user and click ‘Install it for me now!’ button.

   

   That’s it. You’ll see a ‘Success!’ confirmation message as below:

   

Now check your e-mail inbox and you’ll find a mail that installation is successful. Click on the link given in the mail to complete the installation process.
